Paula BusquetsSpanish Interpreter Huntsville, Alabama
I am native from Buenos Aires, Argentina, living in North Alabama since 2008. I am a registered nurse and interpreter. I graduated as an LPN in August 2012 and in November 2012 I took the 40 hrs. healthcare interpreter course level I at University of Memphis, School of public health with Ms. Espi Ralston. That’s how my career as an interpreter started. In my early years I had attempted to be an English teacher in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but I gave up in the pursuit of other goals. Unknowingly, this love for language learning would come back to me assisting Hispanic families throughout an umbrella of services from medical to educational and community services.
Right know I specialize in special Ed., forensic and medical content. Medical interpreting is my strong suit by far. Short term goals are to obtain the national certification for medical interpreter via CCHI by February 2019 as well as I am starting a certificate in “Professional Interpreter in Special Education” online via University of Georgia , continue education, and SeSo Inc, Oct-Dec 2018. As a long term goal I would like to obtain a masters in medical interpreting with a track in conference interpreting. Ultimately, I would like to be in this profession for life.
