Hired as technical translator and interpreter to assist in Iraq’s F-16 program. Lead all translation and interpretation for meetings and conferences that usually take place between company executives and Iraqi Air Force senior officers.

Required, as instructor, to aid in company’s maintenance training to qualify Iraqi military personnel handling F-16 aircraft maintenance. Use specialized skills in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) gained during master’s degree program.

Technical Translator / Interpreter

Hired as English-Arabic and Arabic-English translator, Interpreter, and Cultural Advisor to translate English technical manuals for fixed and rotary-wing aircraft maintenance into Iraqi Arabic. Senior interpreter in all Middle East contract negotiations and business conferences involving i3 sponsors with Iraqi, Saudi, and Libyan senior officials. Taught Iraqi Arabic to i3 colleagues to enhance job performance and customer interactions.

Provided extensive counsel and advice to senior management on intricacies of political factions — as well as tribal and cultural influences involved in conducting business in Middle East, particularly in Iraq.

Concentration: Rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft maintenance technical manuals. Hired shortly after arrival in US as Translator, Interpreter, and Cultural Advisor to handle technical translation, cultural needs, and instruction to company personnel deployed in Iraq.

US DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE OPERATIONS SECTION – BAGHDAD, IRAQ 2005-2007
English-Arabic & Arabic-English Translator / Interpreter

During Operation Iraqi Freedom, under contract with L3 Corporation, assigned to work with US and coalition forces in Iraq. Served US and NATO senior officers as Interpreter, Translator, and Cultural Advisor. Primarily assigned duties as linguist and interpreter for meetings and negotiations with senior Iraqi and US government officials and as instructor.

Under supervision of US military officers, served as lead linguist and integrator for development, training, and operation of first Iraqi National Command Center. Taught computer skills and English language to Iraqi army officers at Iraqi Ministry of Defense.

 At end of 2007, as appreciation for these services and strongly endorsed by US military senior officer supervisors, US government issued immigrant visa for self and family under Department of Defense linguist/interpreter visa program.
